Meet The 22-Year-Old Romanian Striker, Who Lost His Left Hand When He Was A Child (Photos)

Cosmin Lambru is a professional player from Romania, he was born in November 1998 and he is currently 22 years old. He plays as a striker in the Liga III club; CS Blejoi, and he has one artificial arm, and this is because he lost his left hand while he was much younger.

He started his professional career in 2015, just 6 years ago, but he has accomplished so much. In 2019, he won the Liga IV trophy.

He made his professional debut in Petrolul Ploiești, played for a year, and then was loaned out to his current club; Blejoi. He performed very well in his first year at the club, he scored 29 goals in just 19 games, so the club decided to retain him.

Cosmin always liked football, right from his childhood, he spent time playing ball with his friends and aspired to be a professional one day.

In an interview with CNN sport, he revealed his story.

Cosmin stated that when he was a little boy, just 7 years old, he was walking on the street with his friends one evening, and something very unfortunate happened.

A truck lost balance, and headed towards him, in the middle of the incident, he was left trapped in between gas pipes and the truck. As a result of the impact, his fingers were crushed.

He was taken to the hospital, and then an operation was carried out on his hands, and fortunately for him, it was successful.

“The fantastic doctor was able to save my joint, my hand was amputated and a prosthetic arm replaced it. It wasn’t easy, it took a long time to adapt to it after coming back from the hospital. But thanks to the encouragement from my dad and friends, I am still living my dreams today”, he said.

Cosmin’s story has been a great inspiration to so many, a little setback is not the end of the road.
